An

Deep Shit

Welcome to Deep Shit America. Please be advised that your welcome is brought to you courtesy of the millions of Americans who--incredulously--bought into the rightwing, batshit, bullshit machine that will send Donald J. Trump back to the White House--again--on January 20, 2025. When they were filling out those ballots, did they really believe that Trump's tariffs on foreign goods would lower their cost of living? How would that work, exactly? With steep tariffs in place, the shit China sells to Walmart, for example, will only be more expensive for Walmart customers to buy. Did they not think of that on election day?

And how about the undocumented immigrants who, in 2022, paid almost $100 billion in local, state and federal taxes, not to mention the tax withholdings from their paychecks? Do the Trump-supporters really think that the billions of dollars lost from the Trump Administration's mass deportation of immigrants--not to mention the loss of man (and woman) power that helps drive the nation's economy--will somehow improve their lot in life?

The Arab-Americans who voted for Trump because of the Biden Administration's slow response to the Pro-Palestinian movement? What were they thinking? That Donald Trump--BFF of Bibi Netanyahu--would be supportive of Palestine? Why, then, would he make Mike Huckabee, who doesn't even believe that there is a West Bank, the next U.S. Ambassador to Israel? Did these Arab-Americans cut off their noses to spite their faces? Congrats, guys, you've further endangered those lives you're so determined to protect.

A record number of young males (including Black and Hispanic) also voted in favor of Trump because, well, they can't have women supplanting them in the work force or, god forbid, making more money than they do. Especially when the women-folk need to be in the kitchen, keeping the home fires burning, and churning out babies as fast as they can, because that's what a woman is supposed to do. I'm sure some of these guys have what they considered to be legitimate reasons for voting the way they did, but it just seems like many young men nowadays are so insecure in their masculinity that they can only prove their manhood through threats, abuse and intimidation. Okay, you want proof? Google Nick Fuentes, Andrew and Tristan Tate, and the execrable and  potential next Attorney General of the United States, Mr. Matt Gaetz.

And, lest we forget, Joe Rogan's podcast reportedly has more than 18 million subscribers, many, if not most, of them young men. Jesus, these men--old and young--and their tantrums, and their freakish need to be seen and heard are tiresome. That goes for former president and president-elect Donald J. Trump and all his Cabinet nominees, including Kristi Noem, who seems to be as nasty a piece of work as any of her male counterparts. Oh hell, while we're at it, let's just include all the spineless Congressional Republicans who caved in to Trump's commands and threats in order to serve their own interests.

There's RFK, Jr., who may--possibly--lead the Department of Health and Human Services, which potentially means leading thousands of Americans down the primrose path of illness and death because of his antagonism towards vaccines and advocacy of such quack "cures" as hydroxychloroquine. And that's before we even get to the part about the dead bear in Central Park, the decapitation of a whale, and, of course, the brain worm

National Guard veteran and former Fox News host, Pete Hegseth, has been pegged by Trump to be the new Secretary of Defense. Click on his name to read all about it because I'm already running out of patience with these people. Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy will head the newly-created Department of Public Efficiency, presumably because of Musk's demonstrated efficiency at totally transforming X (formerly known as Twitter) into something that's as informative and enlightening as RFK Jr.'s brain. BTW, the Department of Public Efficiency sounds rather Orwellian, don't you think? Sort of like The Ministry of Truth in 1984. Seriously, any Trump voters out there on Medicaid or Medicare? Obamacare? How about food stamps, disability or TANF? Agricultural subsidies? Don't get too attached to them because Muskaswampy wants to pare them down significantly if not eliminate them altogether.

Really, I'm tired talking about these people and the most unserious president we've had in my lifetime, and possibly the lifetime of the United States. There are lots more of these fuckwits out there to be discussed. But not today. Just thinking about them has given me a nosebleed. And the worst part is the Trump administration of terror and destruction hasn't even begun. But I'll say this. Whether or not Trump's most controversial nominees are confirmed for their positions or not, we will still be in Deep Shit, America. And the problem is that, when the dust settles, the entire globe may be living the Deep Shit American Dream.
